During the ceremony, Professor Sun Dong recognized DAS-Security’s long-standing contributions to cybersecurity innovation and practice. DAS-Security has already played a significant role in Hong Kong’s security ecosystem—as a founding member of the Hong Kong Cybersecurity Professional Association and a past winner of the Hong Kong Cybersecurity Competition Gold Award.

Through this partnership, the two sides will leverage their strengths to drive multi-dimensional collaboration, including:

Technology Deployment: Applying DAS-Security’s AI-powered Security capabilities to industries such as finance and healthcare, addressing pressing security challenges.

Expert Insights: Navigating Security in the AI Era

At the forum's panel discussion on "Digital Security in the Age of AI", DAS-Security Senior Vice President and Head of Research Institute, Mr. Wang Xin, shared his perspective.

He emphasized that AI is a "double-edged sword": while it drives efficiency and innovation, it is increasingly exploited for cyberattacks. From automated hacking tools to AI-powered phishing, adversaries are gaining speed and effectiveness. Wang stressed the need for enterprises to embrace an "AI vs. AI" defense mindset—building intelligent, automated defenses to counter AI-driven threats.

He also noted the rising use of open-source code in enterprise software development. While it reduces costs and accelerates innovation, it also introduces compliance and security risks. Wang recommended enterprises establish comprehensive risk management across the entire lifecycle of open-source code. It is crucial to maintain the software bills of materials and conduct professional audits for hidden vulnerabilities.

Looking Ahead

The MOU between DAS-Security and Cyberport marks a new chapter in Hong Kong’s digital security journey. By combining advanced AI-powered security technologies with Cyberport's vibrant innovation ecosystem, the partnership aims to build a stronger, safer digital foundation for industries, enterprises, and society at large.
